Etoricoxib (60mg) + Paracetamol (325mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Etoricoxib selectively inhibits COX-2, reducing the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins.
Paracetamol works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain, which are responsible for pain and fever.
Medical applications
Oxro-P Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Etoricoxib 60 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Etoricoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that effectively reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in the inflammatory process. Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, provides additional analgesic and antipyretic effects by acting centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. This combination is indicated for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and postoperative pain where inflammation and pain coexist. Oxro-P Tablet offers the advantage of enhanced pain relief with a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs due to the selective action of Etoricoxib. It should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular risk factors, hepatic or renal impairment, and those with a history of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol. Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on clinical response and tolerability. Patients are advised to avoid concomitant use of other NSAIDs or paracetamol-containing products to prevent toxicity. Regular monitoring may be necessary during prolonged use.
