Oxcq 300 is indicated for acute and chronic malaria caused by Plasmodium species sensitive to hydroxychloroquine, and as a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) to reduce inflammation, pain, and joint damage in autoimmune conditions. The tablet should be administered orally, with dosing regimens tailored to the specific indication, patient weight, and clinical response, under medical supervision.
Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and skin rash. Long-term use requires monitoring for potential retinal toxicity through regular ophthalmologic examinations due to the risk of irreversible vision impairment. Caution is advised in patients with pre-existing retinal or visual field changes, hepatic or renal impairment, and in those taking concomitant medications that may prolong the QT interval.
