Hydroxychloroquine exerts its therapeutic effects by interfering with lysosomal activity and autophagy, modulating immune responses, and inhibiting parasite growth.

The tablet is indicated for acute and chronic malaria caused by Plasmodium species sensitive to the drug, and as a disease-modifying agent in autoimmune disorders to reduce inflammation, pain, and tissue damage. H-Quine is administered orally, with dosing tailored to the specific condition and patient response. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and skin rash.
Rare but serious side effects may involve retinopathy, cardiomyopathy, and hematological abnormalities; therefore, regular ophthalmologic and cardiac monitoring is recommended during prolonged therapy. Hydroxychloroquine should be used with caution in patients with pre-existing retinal or cardiac conditions and contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to the drug. Concomitant use with other QT-prolonging agents requires careful assessment due to the risk of arrhythmias.
