Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication. Metronidazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent, is effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by disrupting DNA synthesis. Simethicone acts as an antiflatulent, reducing bloating and discomfort by decreasing surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their elimination. Otrust-MS Oral Suspension is indicated for the treatment of mixed infections involving susceptible aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including gastrointestinal infections such as bacterial gastroenteritis, intra-abdominal infections, and infections complicated by gas-related symptoms. The combination therapy ensures broad-spectrum coverage and symptomatic relief from abdominal distension and flatulence. It is administered orally, with dosage adjusted according to the severity of infection and patient age.
