This formulation is indicated for the treatment of bacterial ocular infections accompanied by inflammation, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, and postoperative ocular inflammation. Moxifloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication and effectively eradicating susceptible pathogens. Concurrently, Dexamethasone reduces inflammation by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators, decreasing edema, redness, and discomfort. Optvel-DX Eye Drop is typically administered as one to two drops into the affected eye(s) every four to six hours, with dosage adjusted based on clinical response and severity of infection.
