Clavulanic Acid serves as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhancing the efficacy of Cefixime by preventing enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic, particularly against beta-lactamase-producing resistant strains. This synergistic combination is indicated for the management of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections.
