Oflotreat 200 Tablet contains Ofloxacin 200 mg, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death. Oflotreat 200 is indicated for the treatment of various infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, gastrointestinal infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections.

This medication should be used under medical supervision, with dosage and duration tailored to the severity and type of infection. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort, as well as central nervous system effects like dizziness and headache. Patients are advised to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or UV rays due to the risk of photosensitivity reactions.
Oflotreat 200 should be used with caution in individuals with a history of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use, and it is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ofloxacin or other quinolones. Adequate hydration is recommended during therapy to prevent crystalluria. Complete the full prescribed course to prevent the development of bacterial resistance.
