It is indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin, to improve glycemic control. Vildagliptin exerts its therapeutic effect by selectively inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, thereby prolonging the activity of incretin hormones like GLP-1 and GIP.

This results in enhanced glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppression of glucagon release, leading to improved postprandial and fasting blood glucose levels. Nugliptin 50 Tablet is generally well tolerated, with a low risk of hypoglycemia when used as monotherapy.
