Nimesulide (100mg)
Active composition
Nimesulide inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins, thereby alleviating pain and inflammation.
Medical applications
Nimupain 100mg Tablets contain Nimesulide, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is primarily indicated for the relief of pain and reduction of inflammation in various musculoskeletal disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis. Nimupain is also used for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, mediators of inflammation and pain. As with other NSAIDs, Nimupain may cause gastrointestinal disturbances, including stomach ulcers and bleeding. It is essential to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary, and caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, and asthma. Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver and kidney function, and blood pressure is advisable during treatment.
