Nexcam DT Tablet, containing 20mg of Piroxicam, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and acute gout. Piroxicam, the active ingredient, exerts its anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis. This results in decreased inflammation, pain relief, and reduction of joint swelling. The tablet formulation ensures easy administration and rapid onset of action. As with other NSAIDs, Nexcam DT Tablet should be used with caution in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding.
