Medical applications
Moxair 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic product containing amoxycillin 500mg and clavulanic acid 125mg. This tablet is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections, including upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. Amoxycillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, preventing bacterial growth and multiplication. Clavulanic acid, an ß-lactamase inhibitor, inactivates enzymes that break down amoxycillin, thereby enhancing its antibacterial activity. The combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid provides broad-spectrum activity against a range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains. Moxair 625 Tablet is suitable for patients with uncomplicated infections, including those with upper respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, tonsillitis, and sinusitis. It is administered orally, twice daily, for a maximum duration of 14 days. As with any antibiotic, the patient should be advised to complete the full course of treatment to prevent relapse and emergence of resistance.
