Cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, prevents the action of beta-lactamase enzymes that can inactivate Cefixime.
The combination of Cefixime and Sulbactam enhances the antimicrobial activity of Cefixime, allowing for effective treatment of infections caused by bacteria that are resistant to Cefixime alone. Mortega Tablet is available in a convenient once-daily dosage, making it an attractive option for patients who require antibiotic therapy for a variety of mild to moderate infections.
