Mordica 500mg/125mg Tablet is a combination antibiotic product containing amoxycillin (500mg) and clavulanic acid (125mg) that provides a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against a wide range of bacterial infections. The tablet is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media. Amoxycillin, a penicillin-class antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, inactivates beta-lactamase enzymes that can confer resistance to amoxycillin. The combination of these two agents enhances the antibacterial activity of amoxycillin against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, including Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. Mordica 500mg/125mg Tablet is administered orally, three times a day, for a minimum of 48 hours and up to 14 days, depending on the severity of the infection and the patient's clinical response.
