The product is suitable for patients who are unable to take oral medications or have difficulty swallowing tablets or capsules. Fosfomycin tromethamine exerts its antibacterial activity by inhibiting the enzyme UDP-N-acetylmuramic acid:peptide-doglycan muramoyltransferase, thereby disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis. The product is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or other ingredients, and caution is advised in patients with impaired kidney function or gastrointestinal disease.
Common adverse reactions include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
