Monotrate SR 60 Tablet is a once-daily, sustained-release formulation of isosorbide mononitrate, a nitrate ester, used in the management of angina pectoris. The product is indicated for patients with stable exertional angina, who have not responded adequately to non-pharmacological therapy or whose angina is not well-controlled with beta-blockers or other anti-anginal agents. Monotrate SR 60 Tablet exerts its therapeutic effect by releasing isosorbide mononitrate slowly over a 24-hour period, resulting in a consistent and predictable increase in nitric oxide levels. This leads to a reduction in the frequency and severity of anginal episodes, allowing patients to engage in their normal daily activities without the burden of frequent anginal attacks.
