Tazobactum (125mg) + Ceftriaxone (1000mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Ceftriaxone binds to penicillin-binding proteins, inhibiting cell wall synthesis and leading to bacterial lysis.
Medical applications
Monotax XP 1000mg/125mg Injection is a broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections, including pneumonia, septicemia, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. The product contains a fixed dose combination of ceftriaxone (1000mg) and tazobactam (125mg) in a single vial. Ceftriaxone, a beta-lactam antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to the penicillin-binding proteins, thereby disrupting bacterial cell wall formation. Tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, prevents the action of beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate beta-lactam antibiotics. The combination exhibits synergistic activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli. Monotax XP 1000mg/125mg Injection is administered intravenously and is suitable for adult patients with normal or impaired renal function. The recommended dosage and duration of treatment vary depending on the severity and type of infection.
