Monosopt Eye Drop is a topical ophthalmic solution indicated for the treatment of ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. The active ingredient, dorzolamide 2% w/v, is a potent carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that reduces aqueous humor formation and increases the outflow of aqueous humor, thereby lowering intraocular pressure. This solution is designed to be used as adjunctive therapy to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension who are unresponsive to beta-blockers or prostaglandin analogues. The product is available in a 5 mL bottle with a dropper tip and should be used once or twice daily as directed. It is contraindicated in patients with known sulfa allergy and should be used with caution in patients with a history of sulfonamide sensitivity. Monosopt Eye Drop has been shown to be well-tolerated, with common adverse reactions including bitter taste, eye irritation, and blurred vision.
