Monojack-S 1000mg/500mg Injection is a sterile, pale yellow to yellowish-brown solution for intravenous administration. Each 10 mL vial contains Ceftazidime (1000mg) and Sulbactam (500mg) as sodium salts. Monojack-S is a combination antibiotic indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including pneumonia, septicemia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and intra-abdominal infections. Ceftazidime, a third-generation cephalosporin, has bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, inhibits the action of beta-lactamase enzymes, enhancing the antibacterial activity of Ceftazidime. Monojack-S is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or beta-lactamase inhibitors. It is recommended for use in adult patients with normal renal function; however, dose adjustments may be necessary for patients with impaired renal function or those receiving concomitant nephrotoxic agents.
