Monocef-O 100 DT Tablet is a cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible organisms. The active ingredient, Cefpodoxime Proxetil (100mg), is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Monocef-O 100 DT Tablet is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The tablet is designed for once-daily administration and provides sustained release of the active ingredient over 12 hours, allowing for optimal therapeutic levels in the body. Monocef-O 100 DT Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins, and should be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
