Monit 20 Tablet is a prescription medication containing Isosorbide Mononitrate, a nitrate ester derivative, in a strength of 20mg. It is indicated for the treatment of chronic stable angina and prophylactic therapy of variant angina. The tablet is designed to provide a consistent and controlled release of the active ingredient, allowing for a prolonged duration of action. Monit 20 Tablet has been shown to effectively reduce the frequency and severity of anginal episodes, as well as improve exercise tolerance and overall functional capacity. The medication works by relaxing and dilating blood vessels, thereby increasing blood flow and reducing the workload on the heart. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of nitrate tolerance or sensitivity, as well as in those with severe hypotension or shock. As with all medications, caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, as well as those taking certain concomitant medications. The recommended dosage is one tablet every 8 hours, as needed, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
