Mimod Tablet is a prescription-only medication containing Iguratimod, a synthetic compound with immunomodulatory properties. It is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults who have had an inadequate response to DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) or TNFα antagonists. Mimod Tablet works by modulating the immune response, reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and blocking the activation of immune cells. This results in a decrease in the signs and symptoms of RA, such as joint pain, stiffness, and swelling, as well as improvement in physical function and quality of life. The recommended dose is 25mg once daily, taken with or without food. Adverse reactions may include headache, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Patients should be closely monitored for signs of serious infections, including opportunistic infections, and promptly report any unusual symptoms to their healthcare provider.
