Medical applications
Milixim CV 200 mg/125 mg Tablet is a combination antibiotic containing cefixime (200mg) and clavulanic acid (125mg) used to treat a range of bacterial infections. Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacterial enzymes from deactivating cefixime. This combination product is effective against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Escherichia coli. Milixim CV is indicated for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections. The recommended adult dosage is one tablet twice daily for 7-14 days. Milixim CV is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefixime or clavulanic acid, and caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney or liver disease. Adverse reactions include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and headache. As with all antibiotics, the use of Milixim CV should be reserved for infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria.
