Mifescan 10 Tablet is a prescription-only medication containing Mifepristone 10mg. It is an anti-progesterone agent, which inhibits the actions of progesterone and glucocorticoids, thereby inducing a therapeutic abortion. Mifescan 10 Tablet is indicated for the medical termination of intrauterine pregnancy up to 49 days' gestation. The tablet is taken orally in a single dose, followed by a prostaglandin-containing product, such as misoprostol, to induce uterine contractions and expel the pregnancy. Mifescan 10 Tablet is contraindicated in women with undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, current or recent use of anticoagulant therapy, or history of ectopic pregnancy. Common adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and vaginal bleeding. Rare but serious complications may include incomplete abortion, sepsis, and hemorrhage. Mifescan 10 Tablet is only effective when used in conjunction with a prostaglandin-containing product and under the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider.
