MF 850 Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Metformin Hydrochloride 850mg, indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, characterized by insulin resistance and impaired glucose tolerance. It is used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents, such as sulfonylureas, biguanides, and thiazolidinediones, to improve glycemic control and reduce the risk of diabetic complications. MF 850 Tablet works by increasing insulin sensitivity, reducing glucose production in the liver, and improving glucose utilization in the muscles. It has a rapid onset of action, with peak effects observed within 2-3 hours after administration. The typical dose is 850mg once or twice daily, with the maximum daily dose not exceeding 850mg. MF 850 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or with a history of lactic acidosis, as well as in those with severe renal or hepatic impairment.
