Metrogyl 200 Tablet contains Metronidazole 200 mg, an effective nitroimidazole antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent used primarily to treat anaerobic bacterial infections and protozoal diseases. It exhibits bactericidal activity by disrupting DNA synthesis in susceptible organisms, leading to cell death. Metrogyl 200 is indicated for the management of infections such as bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, giardiasis, and infections caused by anaerobic bacteria including intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and respiratory tract infections.

Metrogyl 200 Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
High Risk
Pregnancy
Metrogyl 200 Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body. If a single dose of Metrogyl 200 Tablet is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
