Metride 4mg/500mg Tablet is a combination oral hypoglycemic agent containing Glimepiride 4mg and Metformin 500mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea class drug, stimulates pancreatic beta cells to increase insulin secretion, thereby reducing blood glucose levels. Metformin, a biguanide, improves insulin sensitivity by decreasing hepatic glucose production and enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
