Mesalacure 1200mg Tablet contains Mesalazine 1200mg as its active ingredient, a well-established anti-inflammatory agent primarily used in the management of inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Mesalazine acts locally on the colonic mucosa by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory mediators including prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation and promoting mucosal healing.

This medication is indicated for both induction and maintenance of remission in patients with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis and for the treatment of active inflammation in Crohn’s disease affecting the colon. Mesalacure is administered orally, with dosing tailored according to disease severity and clinical response, under medical supervision. It is generally well-tolerated; however, patients should be monitored for potential adverse effects such as headache, gastrointestinal disturbances, rash, and rare hypersensitivity reactions.
Renal function should be assessed periodically due to the risk of nephrotoxicity. Mesalacure should be used cautiously in patients with known hypersensitivity to salicylates or aminosalicylates. It is contraindicated in individuals with severe renal impairment or hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. As with all medications, adherence to prescribed dosing and regular follow-up with a healthcare provider are essential to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize risks.
