This synergistic blend offers broad-spectrum antibacterial activity effective against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Ampicillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell lysis and death. Cloxacillin, a penicillinase-resistant penicillin, provides enhanced efficacy against beta-lactamase-producing Staphylococcus aureus strains, thereby extending the antimicrobial spectrum. Megapen Kid Tablet is indicated for the treatment of infections such as respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, urinary tract infections, and other susceptible bacterial infections in children.
