Mclazide 80 is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients inadequately controlled by lifestyle modifications alone.

The medication is typically administered once daily, preferably with breakfast, to optimize efficacy and minimize the risk of hypoglycemia. Gliclazide exhibits a selective action on pancreatic receptors, which contributes to a lower incidence of hypoglycemic episodes compared to other sulfonylureas. Patients should be monitored regularly for blood glucose levels, renal and hepatic function, and signs of hypoglycemia during therapy.
