Maxim Eye Gel contains Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis and other superficial ocular infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms. Moxifloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby exerting a bactericidal effect.

Maxim Eye Gel is formulated for topical ophthalmic use, providing sustained drug release and enhanced ocular bioavailability due to its gel base, which improves patient compliance and therapeutic efficacy. The gel is typically administered as one drop into the affected eye(s) three times daily for 7 days or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or other quinolones.
Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions to any component of the formulation. Common adverse effects may include transient ocular discomfort, burning, or stinging upon instillation. Patients should avoid contact lens use during treatment unless otherwise directed. Maxim Eye Gel should be stored at controlled room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
