Magnex 2gm Injection is a sterile, injectable antibiotic formulation combining Cefoperazone 1000mg and Sulbactam 1000mg, designed for the treatment of a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Cefoperazone, a third-generation cephalosporin, exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefoperazone by preventing enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.

This synergistic combination is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including resistant strains. Magnex 2gm Injection is indicated for severe infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, and gynecological infections. It is administered intravenously or intramuscularly under strict aseptic conditions, with dosing tailored according to the severity of infection, renal function, and patient response.
Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, and transient changes in liver function tests. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins, and renal impairment. Magnex 2gm Injection should be used under medical supervision, ensuring appropriate microbiological evaluation and susceptibility testing to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize resistance development.
