Macsita-D 100/10 Tablet is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin 10 mg and Sitagliptin 100 mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting urinary glucose excretion and thereby lowering blood glucose levels. Sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances the incretin system by preventing the degradation of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), resulting in increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. The combined mechanism offers complementary glycemic control by targeting both renal glucose handling and pancreatic hormone regulation. Macsita-D is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled by monotherapy. It may be used as initial therapy or as an add-on to other antidiabetic agents.
