Macsita 100mg Tablet contains Sitagliptin, a potent and selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin works by enhancing the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin synthesis and release from pancreatic beta cells and decrease glucagon secretion from alpha cells, thereby improving glycemic control.

Macsita is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin. The recommended dose is 100 mg once daily, with dose adjustments necessary in patients with renal impairment. Sitagliptin is generally well tolerated, with a low risk of hypoglycemia when used alone.
Common adverse effects may include nasopharyngitis, headache, and upper respiratory tract infections. Macsita should be used cautiously in patients with a history of pancreatitis, and therapy should be discontinued if pancreatitis is suspected. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and renal function is advised during treatment. Macsita 100mg Tablet offers an effective oral therapeutic option for improving glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients.
