Lupitros-TZ Eye Drop is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution containing Timolol 5 mg and Travoprost 40 mcg, indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Timolol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases aqueous humor production, thereby lowering IOP. Travoprost, a prostaglandin F2α analogue, enhances uveoscleral outflow, contributing to further IOP reduction.

The synergistic action of these agents provides superior efficacy compared to monotherapy with either component alone. Lupitros-TZ is administered once daily in the affected eye(s), preferably in the evening, to optimize therapeutic outcomes and improve patient compliance. Caution is advised in patients with respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bradycardia, heart block, or hypersensitivity to any component.
Common adverse effects may include ocular hyperemia, irritation, and blurred vision. Patients should be monitored regularly for changes in IOP and potential systemic effects. This combination therapy offers a convenient and effective option for patients inadequately controlled with monotherapy, aiming to prevent optic nerve damage and preserve visual function.
