Lupika 500mg Injection contains Amikacin sulfate, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against a wide range of aerobic gram-negative and some gram-positive bacterial infections. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of severe infections caused by susceptible strains, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, bone and joint infections, and skin and soft tissue infections.

Amikacin exerts its bactericidal action by binding irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis and leading to cell death. Lupika 500mg Injection is administered via intramuscular or intravenous routes, with dosage and duration tailored according to the severity of infection, renal function, and patient response. Due to its potential nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity, careful monitoring of renal function and auditory capacity is recommended during therapy.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides. Caution is advised when used concomitantly with other nephrotoxic or ototoxic agents.
