Lupiflex 8 Tablet is a combination medication containing Ketoprofen 100 mg and Thiocolchicoside 8 mg, formulated for the management of musculoskeletal pain and associated inflammatory conditions. Ketoprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties, acts as a selective antagonist of GABA and glycine receptors in the spinal cord, leading to muscle relaxation and relief from muscle spasms. The combination of these two active ingredients provides effective symptomatic relief in conditions such as acute musculoskeletal disorders, low back pain, muscle spasms, and painful inflammatory states. Lupiflex 8 is indicated for short-term use under medical supervision due to potential side effects associated with NSAIDs, including gastrointestinal irritation, cardiovascular risks, and renal impairment.
