Lugital-P Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Aceclofenac 100mg and Paracetamol 325mg. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic agent, complements this action by inhibiting central prostaglandin synthesis, providing effective relief from mild to moderate pain and fever. Lugital-P is indicated for the management of various musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other inflammatory conditions where pain and inflammation coexist. It is also employed for symptomatic relief in dental pain, postoperative pain, and soft tissue injuries. The combination offers enhanced analgesic efficacy with a reduced risk of adverse effects compared to higher doses of individual components. Lugital-P should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulceration, hepatic or renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic or renal dysfunction and should be administered under medical supervision, adhering to recommended dosages to minimize potential side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, hepatotoxicity, or allergic reactions.
