Lucemox CV 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed to combat a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic, exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby effectively targeting susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Clavulanic Acid, a potent beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Amoxycillin by preventing enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thus extending its antimicrobial spectrum. Lucemox CV 625 is indicated for the treatment of various infections including respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media. The combination is particularly useful in infections caused by beta-lactamase producing strains where monotherapy with Amoxycillin may be ineffective.
