Loxcip-DX Eye Drops is a combination ophthalmic solution containing Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and Dexamethasone 0.1% w/v, a potent corticosteroid. This formulation is indicated for the treatment of bacterial ocular infections accompanied by inflammation, such as bacterial conjunctivitis and keratitis. Moxifloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication and promoting eradication of susceptible pathogens. Dexamethasone provides anti-inflammatory action by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators, reducing ocular redness, swelling, and discomfort. Loxcip-DX Eye Drops should be administered as directed by a healthcare professional, typically one to two drops instilled into the affected eye(s) every four to six hours. Caution is advised in patients with viral, fungal, or mycobacterial ocular infections, as corticosteroids may exacerbate these conditions. Prolonged use may increase the risk of elevated intraocular pressure, cataract formation, or secondary infections; therefore, treatment duration should be limited to the shortest effective period. Patients should avoid contact lens use during therapy and consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist or worsen. This product is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to any component.
