The suspension formulation ensures uniform distribution of the active ingredient upon instillation into the conjunctival sac. Lotefort is typically administered as one to two drops in the affected eye(s) four times daily, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and severity of inflammation. Caution is advised in patients with a history of glaucoma, as corticosteroids may increase intraocular pressure.
Prolonged use should be avoided unless under strict medical supervision to prevent potential adverse effects such as cataract formation or secondary ocular infections.
