Loprin-DS Tablet contains Aspirin 150 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with antiplatelet properties. It is primarily indicated for the prevention of thromboembolic events such as myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and transient ischemic attacks in patients at risk. Aspirin exerts its therapeutic effect by irreversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), leading to decreased synthesis of thromboxane A2, a potent promoter of platelet aggregation. This inhibition reduces platelet clumping and helps maintain blood flow in compromised vessels. Loprin-DS is also employed in secondary prevention following acute coronary syndrome and in certain cases of peripheral arterial disease. The recommended dosage and duration of therapy should be determined by a healthcare professional based on individual patient risk factors and clinical condition. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal irritation, dyspepsia, and increased risk of bleeding; caution is advised in patients with peptic ulcer disease, bleeding disorders, or those on concurrent anticoagulant therapy. Loprin-DS should be used under medical supervision, with monitoring for signs of bleeding or hypersensitivity reactions.
