Linospan 100 DT Tablet contains Linezolid 100 mg, an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. It is effective against multi-drug resistant strains including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE). Linezolid acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, thereby preventing the formation of the initiation complex essential for bacterial translation. Linospan 100 DT is formulated as a dispersible tablet, facilitating ease of administration, particularly in patients with swallowing difficulties. It is indicated for the management of complicated skin and soft tissue infections, community-acquired pneumonia, and nosocomial pneumonia. The recommended dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity of infection and patient-specific factors. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hematologic disorders or those receiving serotonergic agents due to the risk of serotonin syndrome.
