Linix-O Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefixime (200 mg), Ofloxacin (200 mg), and Lactobacillus (60 million spores) designed for the treatment of a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, exhibits bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effective against various gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication and transcription. The inclusion of Lactobacillus, a probiotic, helps restore and maintain normal intestinal flora disrupted by antibiotic therapy, reducing the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and promoting gastrointestinal health. Linix-O is indicated for the management of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible organisms. The combination therapy enhances antibacterial efficacy and helps prevent resistance development. It is recommended to be administered under medical supervision with dosage adjusted according to the severity of infection and patient-specific factors. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, or probiotics.
