Lincef Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefixime 200mg and Linezolid 600mg, designed for the treatment of a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against various Gram-negative and some Gram-positive organisms. Linezolid, an oxazolidinone class antibiotic, inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, thus preventing the formation of the initiation complex, and is particularly active against resistant Gram-positive pathogens including MRSA and VRE. The synergistic combination in Lincef Tablet provides enhanced efficacy in complicated infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone infections caused by susceptible strains.
