Linatin D 10mg/5mg Tablet is a fixed-dose combination medication containing dapagliflozin 10mg and linagliptin 5mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting glycosuria and thereby lowering blood glucose levels. Linagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances incretin hormone activity, increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. The combination offers complementary mechanisms to improve glycemic control in patients inadequately controlled by diet and exercise alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents. Linatin D is administered orally once daily, with or without food. It is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to its components. Common adverse effects include urinary tract infections, nasopharyngitis, and hypoglycemia when used with insulin or insulin secretagogues.
