Linahenz D 10mg/5mg Tablet is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin 10mg and Linagliptin 5mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting glycosuria and thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Linagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances incretin hormone activity, increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. The dual mechanism of action provides complementary glycemic control, improving HbA1c levels and fasting plasma glucose. Linahenz D is typically prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise when monotherapy with either agent is insufficient. It may be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents, excluding insulin. The tablet should be taken orally once daily, with or without food.
