Linabite 5mg Tablet contains Linagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Linagliptin works by enhancing the incretin system, which increases insulin secretion and decreases glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving glycemic control. This medication is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic parameters in adults inadequately controlled on monotherapy or combination therapy.

Linabite 5mg is administered orally once daily, with or without food. It is particularly beneficial for patients with renal impairment as it does not require dose adjustment in mild to severe renal dysfunction. Common adverse effects may include nasopharyngitis, headache, and upper respiratory tract infections, though it is generally well tolerated. Hypoglycemia risk is low when used as monotherapy but may increase when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas.
Linabite should be used cautiously in patients with a history of pancreatitis. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and renal function is recommended during therapy.
