Lexicam 8mg/325mg Tablet is a combination analgesic formulation containing Lornoxicam 8mg and Paracetamol 325mg, indicated for the management of moderate to severe pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, postoperative pain, and other inflammatory conditions. Lornoxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class, exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic agent, acts centrally to elevate the pain threshold and reduce fever, complementing the anti-inflammatory action of Lornoxicam. This combination provides enhanced analgesic efficacy with potentially lower doses of each component, minimizing adverse effects. Lexicam is indicated for short-term use in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute musculoskeletal pain, dental pain, and postoperative pain management. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, renal or hepatic impairment, and cardiovascular diseases.
