Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, is effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by disrupting DNA synthesis and causing strand breakage. This synergistic combination is indicated for mixed infections involving aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and certain protozoal infections such as amoebiasis and giardiasis.
Levovax OZ Tablet should be administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, with dosage adjustments based on the severity of infection, renal function, and patient response. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones or nitroimidazoles, and potential side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, CNS effects, and hypersensitivity reactions.
