Levospace 500 Tablet contains Levofloxacin 500 mg, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections. It acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby preventing bacterial cell division and leading to cell death. Levospace 500 is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial sinusitis, and chronic bronchitis exacerbations; urinary tract infections including pyelonephritis; skin and soft tissue infections; and certain types of prostatitis. The tablet is administered orally, with dosage and duration tailored according to the severity of infection and patient-specific factors such as renal function. Levofloxacin is generally well-tolerated, but patients should be monitored for potential adverse effects including gastrointestinal disturbances, central nervous system effects such as dizziness or headache, and rare but serious tendonitis or tendon rupture. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones and should be used with caution in individuals with a history of QT interval prolongation or seizure disorders. Levospace 500 Tablet should be prescribed based on susceptibility testing to minimize the development of antibiotic resistance.
